Ensuring the stability of food systems, and therefore guarantee of food availability, is the primary task of any state. There are two ways to solve this problem: enhancing food production or increasing the amount of foodstuff available to population by reducing its losses. The second solution is provided by Zero Waste concept, which is popular in the world. To implement it in the Russian food industry, the authors developed a sequence of steps (algorithm) that need to be done for increasing food systems stability.
KEYWORDS: production losses, food waste, secondary products, Zero Waste concept, SWOT analysis, waste recycling

Issues of ensuring the quality of engineering industry products are becoming especially relevant in conditions of increasing competition. The enterprises use various approaches to modeling product quality parameters. The first one is the direct task of quality parameters modeling, and it is based on compliance with technical specifications, industry quality standards and a product’s design documentation. The second one presupposes ensuring compliance with real operating processes (conditions) and is called the “inverse modeling problem”. These approaches are discussed using the example of additive manufacturing.
KEYWORDS: quality, quality parameters, direct modeling problem, inverse modeling problem, additive manufacturing, operation
