The dynamics of changes in the legislative regulation of organic products Russia is growing in direct proportion to consumer interest in these products. Since January 2020, when Federal Law No. 280-FZ came into force, significant changes have occurred in the regulatory and technical documentation at various levels, in the rules and procedures for assessing the conformity of organic food and feed products. Documents have appeared regulating the accreditation procedures and confirmation of the competence of certification bodies for organic products production. This year we expect a number of changes in organic legislation that will not only affect the requirements for production technology and product labeling, but also touch on the conceptual apparatus and expand the term “organic products” itself.

Experiments by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation on the transition to digital labeling of new product groups continue. According to experts, in the near future, up to 80% of suppliers and manufacturers will be required to label their products and transmit information about the Data Matrix codes applied to Honest Sign state monitoring system. However, the path to mandatory labeling has its own peculiarities. They are related to the latest changes in legislation. Thus, the most pressing topic of discussion for business owners in 2023 was the introduction of advanced electronic signature (AES) for individuals and machine-readable attorney’s powers. Sergey Ignatkin, Utrace product director, talks about how to set up the reporting process to the government regulator taking into account the new rules, and what scenarios manufacturers have.

Accreditation of testing laboratories is an effective tool for ensuring product safety and quality, as well as confidence in the results of tests based on measurements carried out by personnel according to approved methods. Сompetence is one of the most important criteria for accreditation at both the international and national levels. It is defined by an employee’s ability to apply knowledge, skills, business and personal qualities, which allows them to successfully solve tasks in working process.

The article was aimed to help testing laboratories that are subject to the requirements of GOST ISO/IEC 17025-2019. Most laboratories have problems associated with the processes of verification and validation of measurement methods and other objects. It is about fulfilling the requirements of clause 7.2. Therefore, a clear definition of the concepts and requirements for verification and validation within the laboratory’s activities is an urgent need. The following recommendations on the correct use of the terms “verification” and “validation”, the scope of work and keeping records of these procedures will allow to avoid annoying errors in their use, and the laboratory staff will behave more confidently when undergoing various checks (audits).

Current state standards and guidelines for ensuring compliance with the requirements of TR CU 007/2011 “On the safety of products intended for children and adolescents” do not allow obtaining reliable results of the sanitary and chemical characteristics of diapers for formaldehyde, methanol, phenol, o-, mand p -cresolam (mg/kg) for children and adults using spectrophotometric techniques and gross violations of the rules and standards of standardization. The article shows the use of an innovative method of gas chromatography and headspace analysis to determine the sanitary and chemical characteristics (in mg/kg) diapers, which are not included in the list of standards and methods of TR CU 007/2011.

Traceability of measurement results for monitoring the lignin substances level in natural and wastewater is an acute problem in the field of environmental protection. The solution includes the development and application of technology for obtaining state standard sample materials adequate to the analyzed objects. It is necessary to create a set of samples for water bodies of different composition and determine the content of lignin substances in them with the highest possible accuracy, which can be achieved by an interlaboratory experiment and using independent measurement techniques adapted to specific water objects.

The research was carried out to identify the tendency of white base wines to irreversible colloidal haze caused by protein-based substances. Based on the tannin test results, the tendency to this type of destabilization was determined; a total of 125 samples were analyzed. A systemization of unprocessed white base wines according to their tendency to irreversible colloidal haze was proposed. Stabilization of colloidal system is ensured by the complex effect of fining agents, and depends on their combination and dosage feasibility, selected individually for each base wine. If the test readings are above 8 f.u., processing schemes may require additional techniques, such as heating and/or gallotannin introduction. It is imperative to monitor the efficiency of base wine processing based on the tannin test value.
