Design of occupational health and safety processes in accordance with iso 45001: 2018

One of the key factors for improving the competitiveness of organizations is ensuring at the appropriate level the health protection and occupational safety of the employees. The possibility of creating occupational health and safety management system using the process approach is considered in the article.

Occupational health and safety risks: the new assessment technique

With the introduction of the new ISO 45001 standard, it is necessary to develop new approaches to risk assessment methodology that will more fully and adequately help russian companies to approach the basic principles and requirements of ISO 45001, improve both the effectiveness of the occupational safety management system and the economic efficiency of investments in risk minimization. This article provides a specific example of one of these risk assessment methods.

ISO 45001:2018 standard implementation: operation, evaluation, improvement

ISO 45001:2018 international standard provides a framework to manage and continuously improve OH&S within the organization. It compatible with other ISO standards for management systems, therefore the organization can integrate OH&S within its business processes which will contribute to prevention of accidents and long and short term ill health effects. Along with processes to facilitate the organization’s commitment, the standard require to auditing, review and improve the system including assessment of compliance obligations. Standard requirements can significantly help the organization to improve its business performance by embedding a culture of safety and continual improvement.

Quality definition in international standards: back to basics

Everyone can define the terms as they like, but quality management must be a methodology to support the sustained success of an organization and the society. The authors joined to prepare this paper to highlight the importance of a full understanding of the definitions of quality and quality management in ISO 9000:2015. Without a full understanding of these fundamentals applying ISO 9001 would have only a partial value added to the organization.

Customer value of quality: prognosis method

Earlier, in previous works on this topic, we carried out the actualization of the task of developing a comprehensive methodology for predicting balance estimates of customer satisfaction and quality value of cars, as well as justification, determination of conditions of applicability and limitations in the implementation of the method. In this article, we develop a methodology for forecasting balance estimates of consumer satisfaction. The main results of the method implementation are presented on the example of one of the most popular car brands in our country.

MESsystem: increasing the efficiency of operational management of manufacturing

MES (Manufacturing Execution System) is an automated production management system that allows you to synchronize, coordinate, analyze and optimize manufacturing processes. It can be applied both throughout the enterprise and at the level of a separate production unit. In the proposed exclusive material about the advantages of using MES-systems to improve business efficiency, the readers of the Quality Management Methods magazine are told by Vladimir Beltsov, Chief Designer of Sovremennoe oborudovanie LLC (Solver Group of Companies).

Optimization of the frequency of device repairs in the conditions of probabilisticuncertain information

A mathematical model for optimizing the repair frequency is proposed and studied, taking into account the depth of restoring the reliability of technical devices. In the conditions of probabilistic-uncertain initial information, it is proposed to determine the zone of practically optimal values of the repair periodicity, the width of which depends on the specified error of calculations and the economic stability of the function of specific operating costs. The equivalence of mathematical models for different laws of the probability distribution of failure-free operation in relation to determining the range of practically optimal values of the frequency of repair of technical devices is shown.
