The knowledge-creating organization: hidden potential of business development

The term «knowledge» has become mega-popular in recent years and is used for various reasons and in different combinations: knowledge economics, knowledge engineering, body of knowledge, knowledge bases, knowledge gaps and even the «curse» of knowledge. It is not surprising — we are entering the era predicted half a century ago by P.F. Drucker which he called «knowledge society». But the fact that the future is coming right now makes us to reject the romantic-futuristic mood and look at knowledge quite pragmatically. First of all, we suggest reading the book of the founders of knowledge management I. Nonaka and H. Takeuchi «The Knowledge-Creating Company».

Keywords: knowledge management, SECI model, explicit knowledge, tacit knowledge, Japanese economic miracle.

Knowledge management system: from experience to strategy

In today’s changing world, the key competencies of people and organizations are the skills to use existing information and the abilities to create new knowledge. Only those who are able to build up and correctly orient their intellectual assets — individual collective knowledge — will survive and succeed. The knowledge management system is identical to the management systems of all other assets of organizations. Its device is such that it is able to intercept existing data, information and knowledge flows in companies, directing them to employees who know how to use them effectively in their daily activities.

ISO 9001:2015 requirements for knowledge management: experience and recommendations. Part 3

The provisions of clause 7.1.6 of ISO 9001: 2015 oblige to carry out a number of actions in relation to the organization’s knowledge. The standard does not provide guidance on the mandatory application of specific methods, allowing organizations to determine the necessary actions themselves, which raises concerns about their completeness and sufficiency. The purpose of this article is to formulate proposals for the systematization of knowledge management and recommendations for assessing its compliance with the requirements of the standard. Its third part provides an overview of the comments on the various components of the knowledge management mechanism contained in the sources analyzed by the author.

Keywords: necessity of knowledge, bringing knowledge to employees, the mechanism of knowledge assessment.

PPM method for nonconformity management: convincing arguments

The methodology for calculating the level of defectiveness in ppm allows to establish its permissible values and, based on them, justify targets and corrective measures. The necessary procedures are designed to implement the requirements of ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001), their respective national standards, as well as international industry standards (such as API spec Q1). These procedures are recommended for use throughout the supply chain with consistent involvement of suppliers at all levels. This approach helps to improve the quality and competitiveness of marketable products, which is convincingly proven by the experience of OJSC «BSW management company of «BMK» holding».

Keywords: multi-functional team, ppm defect level, progress plans, achievement of ppm quality and logistics goals.
