The proposed article is the second in a series of exclusive materials by Vadim Lapidus, General Director of the the Center Prioritet, which substantiates the author’s approach to modern business and management, based on sustainable development values, Quality 4.0 concept and dual management principles. This publication deals with a new understanding of quality in connection with the likelihood of consumer choice, the triad of precontract, contract and post-contract quality, as well as the development of the QMS concept based on the principles of business performance management, includes the interested parties expectations.

Is the digitalization of qms processes needed to organizations?

In 2021, the journals «Methods of Quality Management» and «Standards and Quality» repeatedly discussed issues related to the need for improvement and directions for the next revision of the of ISO 9000 family of standards. The author suggest looking at them from the point of view of the specifics of the context of modern business and talk about the prospects for improving quality management systems in the digital space. According to Suvorov, «theory without practice is dead, practice without theory is blind». Therefore, it is have to consider both conceptual and purely practical changes, the analysis of which will allow us to choose the right trend for future development.

Shall the management system be efficient?

QMS is perceived by most managers as something added, «introduced» from the outside into the existing management system. Such understanding of the QMS causes a reaction similar to the purchase of new equipment, and raises the number of questions: how much does it cost? How quickly will it pay off? What will we have in money? For the answer different experts are trying to give the justified arguments on the potential financial and economic feasibility, usually proceeding from the reject costs, which supposedly cannot be reduced without the QMS introduction.

Planning for competitive customer value. Part 2

Customer value is a complex construction of satisfaction and dissatisfaction with specific product qualities related to their significance for certain users. However, customers rarely act strictly rationally, decomposing their perception of quality into separate components and combining them into a single value judgment. It is the manufacturer’s task to reveal those characteristics of the product that are associated with explicit and implicit expectations of target users. The purpose of this article is to illustrate a competitive customer value planning approach that has proved to be effective in practice.

Economic aspects of qualitative management: general model

Determining the effectiveness of the processes of quality management systems and processes of integrated management systems is a rather complex and interesting task. However, it is almost impossible to trace the results of its implementation in a large number of enterprises. The main psychological reasons for this state of affairs, rooted in production and management practice, were discussed in the previous article [1]. There is a certain incompleteness and ambiguity of the scientific understanding of the questions of evaluating effectiveness.

Why is clause 9.3.2.D of iso 50001:2018 speaks on .Continual improvement for competence.? Part 1

The article offered to our readers will be the first of two publications that discuss the expediency and validity of the provision on improving competence in Section 9.3 of the ISO 50001:2018 standard «Energy Management Systems» [1] (hereinafter — ISO 50001). It should be borne in mind that in the relevant sections of other management system standards, no such emphasis is placed on considering and implementing opportunities for improving competence. According to the author, the key question is as follows: what features or specific aspects of employee competence activities did the developers of the standard have in mind?

Creating an effective qms based on iso 9000 series of standards

The creation of a quality management system (QMS) at the enterprise, based on the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001:2015, is often accompanied by certain difficulties. The proposed article summarizes the experience of the production Soyuzpack LLC in solving those questions that arise at the earliest stage of its development. The use of brainstorming methods and prioritization of tasks made it possible to identify the key areas that most ensure the effectiveness of the QMS. We hope this experience will be useful to our colleagues involved in its implementation, preparation for certification and subsequent improvement.
