I sincerely admire those who are able to extract all new knowledge and emotions from rereading wellknown works — whether we are talking about classical literature or the ISO 9000 series of standards. On the contrary, I’m more attracted to texts that can be called exotic in a sense. It is no coincidence that in connection with the topic of the issue, I drew attention to the rarely used ISO 44001:2017 standard for business relationship management systems, as well as its official translation GOST R ISO 44001—2020. I will share my impressions of getting acquainted with these documents — after all, the popularization of standards is one of the tasks of MQM journal.

We provide an opportunity for its participants to share their experience with the MQM journal readers.

The company — major regional player in the building materials market, producing mixtures in several directions under its own trademarks, is going through a transition from a «pioneer» to a «differential» stage. Under there is a risk of business-collapse, which is linked with an increased financial burden on maintaining the functionality of the built-in system and, as a result, with a significant decrease in its efficiency. This problem was an incentive for the owner of the company to turn to the authors of this material for consulting support for the process of organizational transformation.

At the International Scientific and Technical Forum «Russian Standardization Week», held in St. Petersburg in October 2022, the issue of differences in the results of audits of quality management systems of the second and the third parties was discussed. This issue can hardly be called fundamentally new, but its one-sided consideration by no means brings us closer to the truth. Moreover, it can lead to distortion of some objective facts. Therefore, it seems appropriate to analyze this problem from the other side, looking at it through the eyes of a professional auditor.

The need to obtain a clear answer to the question formulated in the title of this article is caused by the following important circumstance. Neither the title of this clause 8.7 of ISO 9001:2015 «Control of nonconforming outputs», nor its text specifies those nonconforming objects to which the discussed requirements shall apply. Everywhere we are talking only on nonconforming outputs. Let us consider additional aspects of the extended analysis of this collision, carried out by the author, the main results of which are presented in the first part of this article.
