IMPLEMENTATION OF LEAN PRODUCTION METHODS AT WHOLESALE TRADE ENTERPRISES

Abstract. With the development of online commerce and the improvement of ways to deliver goods to customers in small batches, the value of large wholesale distributors will increase. They add value to the supply chain between the producer and the consumer. At the same time, increasing competition in all areas of the trading industry suggests that distributors who create less value with low operational efficiency will be eliminated. In order to exclude the causes of a decrease in operational efficiency, a number of lean production methods discussed in this article have been successfully implemented at wholesale enterprises.

ON SOME INACCURATE INTERPRETATIONS OF STATISTICAL PROCESS CONTROL (SPC) FUNDAMENTALS. PART 2

Abstract. MMQ № 6, 2024 published the translation of the article «When Special Cause of Variability Masquerades as Common Cause» by William Levinson, in which he outlined his interpretation of a number of key concepts related to SPC. We believe that the author’s position significantly diverges from the ideas by W.A. Shewhart and W.E. Deming. The second, final publication comments on two illustrative examples given by Levinson to demonstrate its position, and also formulates some empirical rules that will help readers correctly apply the SPC methodology in practice.

RELIABILITY IMPROVEMENT: ISSUES AND TOOLS

Abstract. In 2024 «Methods of Quality Management» journal celebrated its 55th anniversary. Created in 1969, for the first 30 years it was published under the name «Dependability and Quality Control». The guru of dependability theory and practice I.A. Ushakov wrote: «As long as engineering thought lives, as long as technology develops, life will pose new and new problems that cannot be solved without further developing dependability theory». Supporting and developing scientific and practical traditions in the field of reliability, which have been largely lost in modern Russia, we offer readers this review article, published in MQM journal 15 years ago.

Keywords: reliability, workability, durability, failure, root causes of defects.
