V.A. NETES DEPENDABILITY THEORY AND PRACTICE IN A MODERN CONTEXT Abstract. The article continues the discussion on the current state of Russian dependability theory and practice, which began in recent publications by Yu.I. Tarasiev and V.L. Shper. The current trends in dependability theory evolution are described. The relationship of dependability with quality and safety, as well, as standardization, literature and training in dependability are considered. Keywords: dependability, quality, safety, standardization, dependability literature, dependability training. |
M.L. CROSSLEY ACCELERATED DEPENDABILITY TESTING: THE PRACTICAL EXAMPLE Abstract. In the article that opens this issue, V.A. Netes rightly noted that confirmation of compliance with reliability requirements by standard methods may take time comparable to or even exceeding the life time of the object. This explains the widespread use of methods based on accelerated life tests. One of the widely used options in the proposed material by Mark Crossley, the famous international consultant, a Senior Member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ). For better understanding, the algorithm for applying this method is illustrated with the help of a simple practical example. Keywords: dependability, reliability, dependability prediction, accelerated testing, Mean Time between Failure (MTBF). |
N.R. VARFOLOMEEVA LIFE CYCLE COST IN DEPENDABILITY MANAGEMENT: GOST R IEC 60300-3-3—2021 Abstract. GOST R IEC 60300-3-3 is a supporting standard in dependability management. It does not contain requirements and is not intended for certification purposes. However, it explains in detail the approach to assessing the life cycle cost of any technical object based on cost structuring, provides useful recommendations for the practical use of such assessments at enterprises, and provides simple illustrative examples of the application of relevant methods. Thus, it is part of the overall dependability management program in accordance with GOST R IEC 60300-1. Keywords: life cycle cost, cost structuring, cost estimation methods, alternative solutions, dependability. |
V.A. KACHALOV BRIGHTNESS AND LUSTER OF MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS STANDARDS. PART 2. PROCESSES APPROACH Abstract. In the preface to the first part of this article, it is noted that many approaches to quality management included in ISO 9001 as mandatory elements are not always fully implemented in practice, which does not allow them to play out all their facets. Based on extensive experience in conducting audits of various standardized management systems, the author presents his observations and recommendations on how to polish the application of some of them, fully ensuring their inherent brightness and brilliance. This part of the article describes the first facet of the process approach — determination the QMS processes and their boundaries. Keywords: process approach, process inputs, process outputs, process boundaries, ISO 9001. |
I.I. LIVSHITS EFFECTIVENESS OF DIGITAL AUDIT OF MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS Abstract. The management system certification system based on ISO/IEC 17021-1—2015 and other standards in this series assumes the fulfillment of basic requirements for their audits. However, the owners and management of modern business structures have other requirements — they are interested in the prompt fulfillment of tasks and the achievement of specific goals. This implies the use of a clear time scale for the formation and execution of managerial decisions. In particular, we are talking about the formation of digital audit information systems that provide quick feedback and use numerical metrics of effectiveness assessment. Keywords: management system, internal audit, effectiveness assessment, metrics, PDCA cycle, digital transformation, digital audit. |
O.N. BAIBAKOVA SERVICE QUALITY: NO MEASURER — NO SYSTEM! Abstract. In the thematic part of the previous issue of MQM journal, the topic of the role of quantitative indicators in ensuring quality management was discussed. Despite some differences in expert opinions, the general conclusion is that without such metrics, QMS can be neither effective nor efficient, although they need to be applied in a balanced and balanced manner. Olga Baibakova, a certified auditor, business trainer and business coach, author of the integrated model of the I.D.E.A.L. service quality system, talks about how this principle is implemented in practice using the example of service industry enterprises based on the ISO 23592:2021 standard. Keywords: service quality, Net Promoter Score (NPS), loyalty, profitability, improvement. |
P.V. AFANASIEVA, A.L. BLINOVA DEVELOPMENT OF THE PERSONNEL COMPETENCE BASED ON THE IDEF0 MODEL Abstract. For any organization, the main source of added value is competent personnel. A competency-based approach to personnel management allows enterprises to increase competitiveness by minimizing losses in processes and overall costs of production and sales of products/services. This approach is aimed at forming and developing the necessary competencies in employees and is ensured by choosing appropriate forms and methods of management. One of the effective tools that allows an enterprise to implement it, promptly eliminating the risks of a competence deficit, is the IDEF0 functional model. Keywords: competence, competencies, personnel management process, risk-based approach, IDEF0 model. |
I.B. SHUBINSKY MY CONNECTION WITH DEPENDABILITY: THE SECOND HALF OF THE 20TH CENTURY Abstract. In this article, Igor B. Shubinsky, a prominent scientist in dependability, fault tolerance, and safety of technical systems, tells about the formation and development of the Russian dependability school. Special attention is paid to the directions of fundamental and applied research in this area, as well as to the practical application of the results obtained. The author’s memories cover the last 40 years of the 20th century. Keywords: theory and practice of dependability, dependability of complex systems, fault tolerance, efficiency. |
